Privacy policy
Last updated: 5 November 2026
TextPluck does not collect, store or share any of your data. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing is sent to us.
What happens when you capture text
- TextPluck takes a picture of the box you draw, only when you draw it.
- Apple Vision reads the text in that picture on your Mac.
- The picture stays in memory and is thrown away as soon as the text is ready. It is never saved to disk.
- The text goes to your clipboard, like a normal copy.
Internet access
The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox without the network permission, so it cannot connect to the internet. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools.
History
TextPluck keeps your recent captures as text on your Mac, so you can find them again. Images are never kept. You can change how many captures are kept, delete them, or turn history off in Settings. Deleting the app deletes its history.
Screen Recording permission
macOS asks you to allow Screen Recording before any app can read what is on your screen. TextPluck uses this permission only to capture the box you draw. You can turn it off at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
Read aloud
The Speak button uses the voices built into macOS. The text is not sent anywhere.
